Introduction

In this workshop, you will develop the core skills of HEARING, TRUE LISTENING, PATIENCE, INTERNAL SPACE, INTERNAL SILENCE and CALM through your nuanced and powerful sense of hearing and your active capacity for listening.


Discover how your interaction with sound reflects and influences your physical, mental, and emotional states, and learn to harness this connection for greater self-awareness & well-being internally, and connection & communication externally.​​​

Why Sound?

 

​

Sound is a profound and pervasive element of your personal environment. Your auditory system is always active, constantly processing information—even when you are not consciously aware of it. It is constantly shaping your perceptions and emotions.

​

Hearing is deeply connected with your sense of alertness. The auditory system evolved as a sentinel, an early warning system primed to detect the subtlest signals of threat or change. This gives sound a direct line to the nervous system, closely tied to states of fear, vigilance, and readiness.

 

When engaged with intelligence and care, sound can guide the system away from hypervigilance and into states of calm, safety, and ease.

Your ability to communicate effectively with others is deeply rooted in the subtle skill of truly listening.

This workshop focuses on your capacity to engage with sound deliberately, enhancing your sense of presence and interaction with the world around you.

AUDITORY GAMES

You will learn to harness and focus your own conscious attention.​

 

Rather than trying to shut off your mind we want to fully engage it to its highest capacities of curiosity and creativity.

 

You will use these to create your own personal Virtual Reality simulations to explore your own body and mental landscape.

You will be guided through a series of simple but engaging exercises designed to engage with your sensory system from the ground up.​

 

Each perception system will then be leveraged to intelligently develop your sense of Feeling:  

 

Touch externally.

Interoception internally.

Simple and Fun: We will keep things simple and enjoyable with the primary goal of ensuring that you can easily access and use these skills anytime, anywhere.


Active Listening: Develop the skill of focused listening to enhance your sensory awareness and connect deeply with your environment and others around you.


Passive Listening: Learn to allow sounds to come to you, creating a receptive and open state of mind and body.

Perception Shift: Engage in playful shifts of auditory perception with simple yet powerful exercises to enhance your focused attention.


Sound Mapping: Develop a fun yet profound practice of mapping sounds in your environment to boost your spatial and sensory awareness.


Smooth Switching: Using awareness of sound to smooth and ride the effects of fight/ flight response.


Auditory Intelligence: Learn to tune and develop your auditory intelligence, impacting your overall sensory awareness and presence.
