Introduction

In this module, you will explore fundamental principles of graceful, efficient and balanced movement and learn to leverage these principles to generate AGENCY, RESPONSIVENESS, FLOW, FLEXIBILITY and ENGAGEMENT. 

​​

Experience a deeper understanding of your body's potential, its place in navigating and manipulating the world around you and the mental / emotional skills this legerages into your everyday action and responsibilities. 

Why Movement?

Neuroscience and evolutionary biology suggest that your brain evolved primarily to interact with your environment through movement.

​

Movement is not just a physical activity, but a fundamental aspect of how you experience and engage with the world. This makes movement a powerful gateway to developing presence and self-awareness.

​​​

Skilled, graceful movement means you deliberately engage with the physical world around you, manipulating yourself and your external environment. Movement engages a complex synthesis of touch, vision, proprioception and muscular contraction, drawing on skills developed in earlier modules to bring you into a felt sense of embodied Presence.

 

This workshop is designed to transform the way you move and experience your own physical form. This immediately cascades into the mental and emotional layers. 

MOVEMENT GAMES

You will learn to harness and focus your own conscious attention within movement. 

 

Rather than trying to shut off your mind we want to fully engage it to its highest capacities of curiosity and creativity.

 

You will use these to create your own personal Virtual Reality simulations to explore your own body and mental landscape. 

SENSORY

INTELLIGENCE

You will be guided through a series of simple but engaging exercises designed to engage with your sensory system from the ground up.​

 

Each perception system will then be leveraged to intelligently develop your sense of Feeling:  

 

Touch externally.

Interoception internally.

Simple and Fun: We will keep things simple and enjoyable with the primary goal of ensuring that you can easily access and use these skills anytime, anywhere.

Planes of Movement: You will explore movement across different planes, generating a complete sphere of potential for smooth, eloquent control. Limiting yourself to planes brings awareness to them and creates a structure to:

         - set yourself free

         - limit the vastness of your exploration so that it is within scope of simple investigation.

Torsion: Master the art of rotation, harnessing the power of torsion and connected movement.

​

Shifting Movements: Discover the subtlety of lateral shifts and how they influence your overall balance and coordination.

​

Arm & Shoulder Movements: Understand how your arms can guide and enhance the movement of your entire body.

​

Isolation & Integration: Explore the spectrum of isolated vs integrated movement giving you greater control and precision in your movements.

Fluid-based Motion: Deepen sensory capacity and smooth body movement through virtual internal resistance play.
